A Bit About Me

Stephanie “Stephe” Lanoue is a unique blend of animal artist, biologist, educator and nature photographer. She combines her knowledge of animals with her passion for art.  Endangered animals, exotic marine life and shorebirds spring to life with vivid detail in her paintings. Stephe’s work is known for scienti!c detail and bright colors which chronicles the artist’s love affair with the ocean and its inhabitants.

 

Stephe holds a Master of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of Houston at Clear Lake, Houston Texas which includes graduate level painting classes. Her field studies have taken her around the globe including throughout the US (by RV full time for 2 years), British Columbia, Canada, Caribbean, Central America and the South Pacific islands.

 

She is the recipient of 25 teaching awards including Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who Among American Women, Outstanding Faculty for several institutions, and a National Finalist for Outstanding Technical Educator. Her artwork has won recognition in several competitions, is in private collections internationally, and has been exhibited with The Museum of Fine Arts, Austin, Texas; Barnes and Noble Booksellers, Austin, Texas; NASA Lunar Rendezvous Festival, Houston, Texas. Her partial art client list includes Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas; the US Navy, Panama City, Florida; Freeport Public Library, Freeport, Florida and the Society of Environmental Toxicologists. She has also served as a subject matter expert in biology for the Texas Association of School Boards, Austin, Texas and is a published author of four books through Kendall-Hunt Publishing.
