Glass

A Bit About Me

To make good art, a person must truly have a passion. I am excited to and where my passion lies, in the vast realm of glass. Nearing the end of my academic journey, I began working with warm glass. Attending one of the few schools where glass is a part of the art curriculum, I stumbled into a glass opportunity during the summer. I immediately fell in love with the many facets of glass. Specifically, the techniques involved with fusing and

slumping glass.

The harmony I have found working with glass is the continuous dialogue between the medium and myself. The glass tells me how it wants to behave, and I respect it’s dictation. I am inspired by art that might have a purpose other than sitting prettily at a table or hanging on the wall.

I appreciate a diverse range of art yet am inspired by Monet and Renoir for their use of color, Mondrian and Picasso for their use of geometric shapes and for the artisans that created objects for everyday use at the Bauhaus.
