About the Artist: As expressed by ,y previous work as an Environmental Scientist, Earth & Space Science Teacher, Microbiologist, and Mycologist, I have always had a love of the natural sciences. After visiting Japan in 2022 and seeing their beautifully prepared specimens, I began trying my hand at insect taxidermy. During my frequent visits to Japan, I have studied this unique and challenging style of mounting insects in three dimensional positions to give them "new life". Rather than mounting my specimens in the traditional European style, I create works of art that give credit to nature's true beauty with natural poses that invoke curiosity and tranquility. Accented with synthetic crystals, hidden induction LED lights, and luxurious accents such as 23k gold leaf, I hope you will enjoy my artwork as a truly exquisite conversation piece in your home.
